Be patient
with unbelievers because they are, as yet, unperceptive to things of a spiritual
nature. The gospel is veiled to them, and the enemy blinds them to the truth,
so they cannot believe on their own. Be patient and continue to pray for their
eyes to be opened to have the spiritual discernment needed to see and
understand.
“But even
if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds
the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel
of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” 2 Corinthians
4:3-4 (NKJV)
We can be
so grateful for the One Who has begun the good work in us, but it is God Who
initiates the work of salvation. He is the One Who searches for us first.
“… being
confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will
complete it until the day of Jesus Christ”
Philippians 1:6
Maybe you
are reading this as an unbeliever, or as one who has been thinking about making
a decision. Are you feeling a nudge, a tug in your heart? That’s God – He’s
seeking YOU, but wants it to be your decision. Will you answer Him, will you
accept Jesus Christ as Your Saviour and Lord of your life?
You don’t
need to be perfect, none of us are! You just need to recognize you are a sinner
(we all are). Making the decision isn’t the end, it’s an amazing beginning,
because then He equips you to begin making changes to those things in your life that
haven’t sat well with you for a long, long time. That will satisfy that feeling
that something is missing, and that nothing seems to satisfy. He calls us from the darkness into the light, and no
matter how dark your life has been, He still welcomes you.
Once you
take hold of this most precious of all gifts – free for the taking – your eternity
with Him is secure. You hold on, and your walk with Him begins. “As you therefore have
received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and
established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with
thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7 (NKJV)
And once
you are secure, remember your previous blindness and resistance in order to be
patient with unbelievers.
So – is today
THE day to make the best decision you ever will make?
It’s simply
asking God “Dear God – I know I’m a sinner, and am nothing without a Saviour. I
know that I need Your Son, Jesus Christ, to be the LORD of my life and I accept
Him into my life and His gift of salvation. Amen”
Reach up – He will reach back and He won’t ever let go – that’s a promise.
May the Peace and Grace of our LORD be with you today, and always!
Liz
