Happy New Year
What does a new year mean to you? Resolutions, fresh start, or same old same old?
Perhaps, though, to move ahead you first need to look back. And so I'm taking a few moments to reflect on what 2024 brought to me - and my family.
First and foremost I have seen God's hand working in my immediate family - my daughter and her husband, baptised. A family estrangement resolved with God's intervention brought on by a critical illness for one of the parties and God's hand seen in slowing down the illness. A 17-year old grandson bought his own Bible and has a hunger for Him.
The past year has seen me gain a deeper understanding of how important Israel is and to intensify my prayers for her people. God's hand has been on her the latter part of the year, with miraculous protections and victories against enemies who seek the annihilation of Israel. Satan has increased his efforts, but is doomed to failure.
I've once again begun a study on the book of Revelation and, thanks to God for providing more clarity and understanding of what can so often be confusing. I have a lot of the book still to go, but am taking my time, meditating on what is being made more clear. And above all, eagerly anticipating the return of my Saviour, Jesus Christ - Yeshua. I Thess 4:15-18
As I wrote in an earlier post about sensing a movement of God's spirit across the globe - this has not diminished, but grows stronger. I seek God's guidance always, to filter out the deceit and deliberate misinformation flooding social media. More than ever, Christians need to be grounded in God's word - the Bible. To be able to know what does, or doesn't, line up with His word. Because God is the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. His promises stand, prophecies are coming to pass, and I feel Christ's return is imminent.
With His help, I pray 2025 sees me become bolder in my faith. Time grows ever shorter and so many are lost, not even having the most basic knowledge of God. As He is pushed further and further away, the enemy must think His influence wanes - ha! And so I will try to do more to bring God's message to those who are indifferent, who think they have time to make a decision for Christ, who think being a good person is enough to get them into Heaven. Or have no idea how much God loves them, yearns for them and wants none to perish.
Because it WILL happen, whether at your last heartbeat and breath, or at His coming (in the twinkling of an eye and suddenly! I Cor 15:51-52) - you will be facing your Creator, with no excuses or bargaining because it will be too late by then.
It's a choice, accept or reject. But as with any choice, there are always consequences. My small part is to get people to think, and to be aware of what they risk. Then it is up to them.
A few days ago I created a FaceBook page - Awe-mazing Love - as a way to present God to whoever needs to know Him. If only one person makes a decision to surrender their life to Christ, and be saved, it will be worth it.
So, resolution for 2025? Only this, to go deeper into His Word, to strengthen my walk, and to pray continually for others to be saved.
What about you?
In His name
Liz
