At this time of year, many would say the only thing they want for Christmas is Peace. True peace can only be found in Jesus Christ. Peace is not the absence of wars, troubles, anxieties, but the presence of truth. Jesus said, "My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you." (John 14:27 NKJV)
In this world, we do have troubles, sometimes minor, but often the trouble can be a life-changing crisis, either for ourselves or someone we care about. With no Saviour to lean on, life's 'hits' can be devastating - with some who never recover.
Jesus, Son of Man, lived as a human being and He understands ANYTHING we are going through. A health crisis, relationship breakdowns, betrayal. He knows we can be full of self-doubt, even when we are saved. But He understands, and will walk with us through every second of any trial. And He also understands anger you might have against God, He will hold you even closer.
If you are a believer, see this Christmas season with fresh eyes, see Him as the One Who will never leave you - even when you push Him away, He's there - waiting.
He understands, He loves, He is patient, and He wants YOU.
We all know how much joy we get watching someone open the gift we made or purchased for them. He offers no greater gift this Christmas than salvation and the assurance of eternity with Him, but it's up to you to accept that gift. Imagine His joy!
None of us are immune to tragedy, loss, heartache. At times the days are hard, and we stumble on the path before us, but how much harder it would be without Him!
His arms reach out for you, He is ready to listen, He is ready to comfort, He is there. Just ask Him into your life.
As Hanukkah draws to a close and Christmas comes closer, I'll say Chag Urim Sameach! (Happy Festival of Lights), and May the Peace of Jesus fill your heart and homes this Christmas and every day.
In His Name, with love
Liz
