The most
repeated promise in the Bible is “I am with you always.” A promise repeated to
so many different people, in so many different situations and circumstances.
But always the promise, “I am with you always.”
He travels with us, no matter what our journey, or how long it is,
supports us through every storm and doesn’t stand at a distance.
We may not
see Him at work, or sense His presence, but His promise of friendship is a
covenant based on His unending love for us.
His love
for us is unending, constant, and so patient. When Jesus came to earth to live
as a human being, He faced situations we can all relate to. So He knows, He
understands, and He wants to reassure us of His promise to be with us always.
All through
the Bible – so many in Psalms, and here are some of my favourites. (All scripture shown is NKJV)
Lamentations 3:22-23
“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions
fail not. They are new every morning, great is Your faithfulness.”
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be
afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
With Christ We Are Never Alone
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the
rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall
not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, the
Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”
“’Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid; do
not be afraid of him,’ says the LORD, ‘for
I am with you, to save you and deliver you from His hand.”
“The LORD you God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will
rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will
rejoice over you with singing.”
“ … and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
“And I will pray the Father, and
He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever,”
“… For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’”
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor
principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height
nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the
love of God which is in Christ Jesus our LORD.”
“I am with you always” speaks straight to our fears, our anxieties,
doubts and sufferings. But knowing that the very same God who created the
universe and everything in it, including YOU, leads us, and
empowers us from within, should provide a calm, a peace, a serenity – no matter
what obstacles we face.
Our Almighty God is your comforter, protector and constant support in
whatever season you are walking through. Remind yourself that He IS with you,
always, by being in the Word, with prayer, and letting Him speak to you.
May the Grace and Peace of our LORD be with you today, and always. To
God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever!
Liz
