Question To Ponder

November 2 2025

You’ve probably heard the oft-quoted phrase “What would Jesus do?” (WWJD), but today I heard a question during a sermon message that goes even deeper than that.

How at home would Jesus feel with you?

The distractions and pulls of this world are always there – even (or maybe especially) for Christians. The enemy can certainly use distraction as a way to draw our focus away from living a life that is pleasing to God.

Asking, “What would Jesus do?” is always a good guideline when facing a decision, but the more your walk with Him grows, the less often the question should surface.

But would He be comfortable in my home? Even though He certainly is able to always see us, this question raises that knowledge to a more immediate and personal level.

Would He be happy to sit beside me and watch what I’m seeing on the TV or my social media comments on the computer? What about the friends I spend time with, the words being spoken. Would He be happy listening to how I might speak about people not there – behind their back?

For me, this reinforces the fact that as a Christian, it’s a 24/7 way of life. Not just for Sundays, not just for when I’m with other believers, but ALL the time.

I’ve been baptized for nearly 40 years, but what I have been learning, and finally understanding, over the last two or three years has shown me just how little I did know. I am open to the Holy Spirit revealing new things, seeing the world more from God’s eyes, and I know I have a very long way to go!  Making me extremely thankful that His mercies are new every morning!

To answer the question, I think I’d be more comfortable with Him in my home now than I would have been twenty or ten years ago, but if I knew He was coming for a visit, there’d still be a few corners to clean and some spiritual dusting required.

Moving forward, though, I will try and live my life as if He were to be in my home. But wait, reality check. He IS in my home, but more importantly, He is in my heart. I think you know what I mean, though.

So, how about you? If you believe in God, in Jesus - would He be comfortable spending a day with you in your home?

Something to think about.

In His Name, with love

Liz
