Where do I begin? What can I say that hasn’t
already been said by hundreds, if not thousands of voices?
A bold and unashamed voice for Christ, for
advancing the Gospel, for unapologetically speaking the truth. Truth not
everyone wanted to hear, but willing to engage in discussion with opposing
views.
On a personal note, with God’s help, I am
trying to be bolder, more open about my faith. Not always met well, but I won’t
be the first, nor the last to ruffle feathers, bring discomfort. “Have I
therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?” (Gal 4:16 – NKJV). If Paul experienced it, why should I, or you,
be any different.
If we are truly Christians who love Jesus,
don’t we want people to know the saving truth of Jesus? The truth that will
break chains of depression, anxiety, fear? We must love people more than our
own selves. Easier said than done, but something to be worked at all the time.
My heart is still grieving, still heavy
over the tragedy of Sept 10, but mixed in with the sadness is a joy. Joy that
Charlie is safe in the arms of Jesus. Joy when I see the impact his death has
brought, people picking up a Bible, going (back) to Church. This will be the
good that comes from his death, and I know it will over time diminish, but for
now the emotional tide is high and I pray that from the thousands who are now
accepting Christ, God will raise powerful voices. Voices bolder than I could ever
hope to be.
I rejoice in the countless posts on social
media of positive changes in people’s lives as a result of Charlie’s influence.
God continues to use His faithful servant even past his death.
Today is the day of salvation – tomorrow may
be too late. If Charlie’s death has impacted you to make a change for Christ,
do it now. Ask Jesus into your heart, confess your sins and acknowledge you
need Him to be the LORD of your life.
Believers, remember to pray for the family
of Tyler Robinson, as well as Tyler, – their lives forever changed. And for those who spew hatred
and rejoice in Charlie’s death, so blinded, but they are equally deserving of
our prayers – God wants none to perish, but for all to come to salvation. May
they repent while there is time. Charlie would be among the first to welcome
them to heaven.
Come, Jesus, come – we need You TODAY!
In His name
Liz
